"Don't think you can, know you can"

Heart of Portsmouth - Information for Parent/Guardian

There is no better way to teach self-confidence than Boxing.  Heart of Portsmouth Boxing Academy is an all inclusive club and we encourage all participants (from the age of 5 years upwards) to come along have fun, make new friends whilst trying the sport of Boxing.

The Heart of Portsmouth Boxing Academy is a Community of Interest Club (CIC) which runs  the Boxing Awards programme, a structured programme with stages to complete (Preliminary, Standard and Bronze - all non contact)  which is designed as a fun and recreational activity for everyone to develop an interest in the skills of boxing.  These Awards will allow your Boxer to have the opportunity to get medals and certificates - all delivered by our qualified Boxing Tutors and Coaches within the Club.

Your Child will learn fitness, skipping, foot work, punches all under the supervision of qualified coaches undertaking a recognised awards programme keeping it fun, engaging and rewarding.

As parents ourselves we understand and are approached by parents concerned that their child wants to start boxing. Please note, all recreational boxing is non-contact and should your child progress through the awards, is of an appropriate age and skill and most importantly express an interest in wanting to do box then they can progress to complete the award stages Silver, Gold and Platinum - on discussion and agreement - with yourself.  These next three awards are built on what your child has already demonstrated achieving the first three awards and slowly moves them into Semi-Contact boxing.

If you or your child have any questions please speak to with "Q" Shillingford or Dave Johnson.
