The Platinum Award is for all who have successfully completed all five progressive Awards - from Preliminary to Gold. The programme is more intense and is to prepare you for your skill bouts. All candidates must have completed and passed a full boxing medical. A qualified ABA coach must be in attendance whilst all sparring is taking place. Sparring is to be conducted in a boxing ring.

For all holding the Gold Award and who have passed a full boxing medical. The final assessment will be based on your performance in a skills bout.

To give the boxer the opportunity to experience what it is like to box in a bout on a boxing show in a safe and controlled environment.
Skills Bout - Round One
Red Corner: is to show his/her ability to box on the back foot, using counters, feints footwork and good defensive work.
Blue Corner: is to show his/her ability to box moving forward, cutting down the ring, drawing their opponent onto a punch and using switch attack combinations.
Skills Bout - Round Two
Both boxers switch tactics, red corder moving forward. Blue corner on the back foot.
Skils Bout - Round Three
Both boxers to use both tactics throughout the last round, demonstrating attacking and defensive ability throughout the last round. Towards the end of the final round both boxers to demonstrate short range work, toe to toe (power down).
On completion of the Skills Bout both boxers are to return to their respective corners and will then be brought into the centre of the ring by the referee and both boxers will have their hands raised.
